Meteor and 12p Pons Brook Comet - once in a lifetime shot.

Updated: Mar 24

Upon first glance this is not a fantastic photo, but look closely. In the center of the image you will see a meteor burning up. To the bottom left of the tail of the meteor you will see a greenish orb with a slight glow behind it. This is the 12P-Pons Brooke Comet that will be in the sky for the next month or so. I was so shocked when I went back and looked at my images and found a meteor photobombing the comet!  What are the odds of these two distant space objects traveling for millennia through time and space only to be captured in the same image by a human and a camera.  Photography has made me look at the whole universe in a different way.  This hobby just gives and gives.  What an amazing thing to capture.

I added a couple of other images below of the comet. I hope to be able to get out and focus more on this comet over the coming weeks.
