This is my first blog post on my new website that I am working on. I hope to maybe make this in to something, but we'll see.
Last night I went down to Sandbridge, Virginia Beach late in the evening in a half-assed at to try to view the shoot the Milky Way. Upon arrival to the beach I realized just how windy it was and proceeded to get sandblasted. I also couldn't believe how much the beach had changed since the last time I had been down there prior to many of the Nor'easters that have occurred over the past month and a half.
I got my trusty headlamp out and walked to the pier, but I knew I wasn't going to see too much with all of the lights on in the whole city on a busy Friday night at the beginning of Spring. I shot a few shots, but ran out of patience around 11:30 PM, well before Milky Way rising time, however I still managed to grab a few images that I am proud of. I also, got to use my intervalometer for the first time and I am looking forward to making some starlapses in the future.
I woke up this morning to 80 degree+ weather and proceeded to spend a decent amount time just relaxing in the back yard with my new Canon 70-300 lens. A Blue Jay kept coming around and hanging out.
